Aftercare plan template for aesthetics and skin clients

A written aftercare plan protects your client's results and your clinic. Clients forget most of what they hear in the treatment room, and a printed sheet is easy to lose. A plan they keep on their phone answers their questions at home, when they would otherwise message you.

This guide covers what to put in an aftercare plan, a template you can copy, and how to send it.

What a good aftercare plan includes

•

What you did today. The treatment, the area and anything the client should know about it, in plain words.

•

The first days at home. What to do and what to avoid, for as long as it matters.

•

Their routine. The products to use morning and evening, in order, and the ones to pause.

•

When to contact you. The signs that mean they should get in touch, and how to reach you.

•

What happens next. The next treatment in the course, a review date, or when to book again.

Keep each part short. One idea per line is easier to follow than a paragraph.

An aftercare plan template you can copy

1.

Your treatment today: [treatment], [area], [date].

2.

For the next [time]: [what to do]. Avoid [what to avoid].

3.

Morning routine: [cleanser], [serum], [moisturiser], [sun protection].

4.

Evening routine: [cleanser], [treatment product or pause], [moisturiser].

5.

Contact us if: [signs to watch for]. Call or message [clinic contact].

6.

Next step: [next session or review date], [how to book].

Write the details from your own training, your insurer's guidance and the instructions for the products you use. The right advice differs by treatment and by client.

Facials, peels, microneedling and LED

The same structure works for each. What changes is the length of the "first days" section and the products you pause or add. A peel or microneedling usually needs more detail in the first days and a clear note on sun protection. A facial or LED course usually needs less, and more about the routine and the next session.

How to send it to your client's phone

In FacePlan you build the plan once, from your own library of products, treatments and advice, and send it as a link. Your client opens it on their phone with no app and no password. From the plan they can ask to buy a product, ask to book their next treatment, and send you a message or a progress photo. You can save a plan as a template, so the next client's plan takes a minute.
